  • Use a stiff brush to remove the food that is hardly stuck to it.
  • Rub steel wool to make the pan rust-free.
  • Wash the pan thoroughly. Avoid soaking the pan in water as it may rust.
  • Now dry it with a paper towel or with any dry cloth. You can also dry it on the stove under low heat.
  • Apply on the skillet vegetable oil with a dry cloth and then store it in any dry place.

Here are some tips to make your pan last longer:

  • Use the pan frequently. It may rust when you do not use it for a while, and the oil-soaked into metal becomes old.
  • Clean the pan properly. Please do not leave it soaked in water.
  • Keep your cast iron skillet seasoned. It is recommended to purchase a pre-seasoned pan, but you can strengthen it yourself if it is not already seasoned.
